How to Craft a Dehydrator in Stardew Valley (1.6 Update)

An all new way to enjoy fruits and mushrooms!

The most recent Stardew Valley content update may offer the most in terms of new items, events, dialogue, and general things to see and do in the game. However, one item proves almost overpowered, so here’s how to craft a Dehydrator in Stardew Valley!

Where to Get the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley

You can purchase the crafting recipe for the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley from Pierre. He sells the plan for a staggering 10,000 Gold. Once you have the funds, I recommend visiting his shop in the town center and buying this recipe, as the Dehydrator will make you a lot of money over time.

Besides purchasing the crafting recipe from Pierre, there is no other requirement to unlock the Dehydrator. The moment you install Update 1.6, the Dehydrator and the rest of the new content become available. You don’t even have to start a new save file. I booted up a very old save, walked over to Pierre’s, and there it was for 10,000 Gold!

How to Use the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley

To use the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley, you must first own the recipe and then craft one with the following ingredients:

  • Wood x30
  • Clay x2
  • Fire Quartz x1

Once you have your Dehydrator, place it down to the side somewhere and place it in a handful of fruit or edible mushrooms.

You can toss in previously inedible food items, such as Rhubarb, which, once dried, becomes consumable and restores 275 Energy and 123 Health.

You’ll likely want to craft a Big Chest to hold all the new dried food items!
