Sony Releases Software Update 4.46, Provides Steps To Fix “Bricked” Consoles

If the last update damaged your PlayStation 3, Sony explains how to fix it.

Last week, Sony’s 4.45 update for PlayStation 3 caused a “small number” of systems to “brick”, or get stuck on the intro screen.  In response, the company removed the update and fixed the issue.

We’re happy to report that the company released system update 4.46 yesterday.  With it, players will be able to get the features that were supposed to come with the previous update – such as turning off Trophy notification.  It will also fix the “brick” issue that affected the small number of systems.

Head over to Sony’s instruction page and follow the necessary steps, and you’ll have your system working again in no time.
