The launch of Last Epoch 1.0 has come with a few issues and players are running into problems entering the Fortress Gardens. This guide will outline what is causing those issues and what you can do in the meantime.
Last Epoch 1.0 – How to Enter the Fortress Gardens
You need to make an offline character or wait for the servers to stabilize to enter the Fortress Gardens. Making an offline character is the easiest way to bypass all of the server issues that are present in the Last Epoch 1.0 launch and you can even use chat with other players in the game. It’s an easy way to get started with a fresh Cycle Character. However, if you make an offline character, you won’t be able to switch back to online for it.
Anyone lucky enough to get started on Chapter 1 in Last Epoch 1.0 with an online character is bound to run into this issue. Unfortunately, the only real fix is to wait for Eleventh Hour Games to fix the server problems on their end. Some players are attempting to join groups and teleport to players who have entered the Fortress Gardens. This could work for some players but it’s not a guaranteed fix for everyone.
How to Fix LE-61 Failed to Matchmake:
- Try to join a player that already entered the Fortress Gardens.
- Restart Last Epoch.
- Wait for the servers to stabilize.
The Fortress Gardens matchmaking bug isn’t the only issue with the Last Epoch 1.0 launch. Most players are stuck with the “Online Play Unavailable” message when they attempt to enter the game. At the time of this writing, I’m one of those players and I haven’t been able to load into the game at all. But as I was waiting, I did manage to reach the Fortress Gardens on an offline character.
