EA, DICE Open Up New Star Wars-Devoted Los Angeles Studio

Dare we say, "The Force is strong with this one"?

Electronic Arts is definitely moving forward with plans to make some of the best Star Wars games it possibly can following the acquisition of the rights through Disney last week.  Today it showed just how serious it was.

The Stockholm-based team at DICE has confirmed that it has opened up a new Los Angeles-based office that’s devoted entirely to the Star Wars franchise.  Though no specific titles have been announced just yet, it’s definitely progress.

In regards to having the opportunity to work on the popular sci-fi franchise, DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson explained that, when it came to the studio, “People stood up and cheered when I announced that we were working on Star Wars.”  

Now it’s just a matter of seeing what the team works on.  A new Battlefront game wouldn’t be a bad thing…
