How to Unlock New Outfits in Persona 3 Reload (P3R)

Let the boys have battle panties

Look, if you’re going to spend dozens of hours slashing and hacking your way through Shadows, you and your squad might as well look good doing it. Here’s how to unlock new outfits in Persona 3 Reload.

How to Unlock New Outfits in Persona 3 Reload

The foundation of any good JRPG is ridiculous outfits. And Persona 3 Reload has certainly hit that requirement out of the park with a wide assortment of cosmetics, from speedos to maid costumes. Each member of your team that you can use in Tartarus has an option in their inventory to swap into an outfit beneath the outfit submenu.

Tip:

Changing a character’s outfit will only change their appearance in Tartarus. Outside of Tartarus, party members will still dress in their everyday clothes.

Initially, you’ll be limited to your standard outfit and SEES Uniform. But there are two ways to unlock more outfits. The first option is to complete Elizabeth’s Requests. And this is by far the best way to get outfits for your team. By completing her requests, you’ll get:

  • Seasonal school outfits
  • Seasonal casual outfits
  • Maid outfits
  • Swimwear

Your second option is to open Twilight Fragment Shard Chests. And while random chests do occasionally hold equipment items, your best bet to farm outfits is the chests immediately after a guardian boss. These Twilight Fragment chests can cost between 1 and 3 Twilight Fragments. And if you can’t afford them when you first encounter them, you can always return to the floor with a teleporter.

While Elizabeth seems to specialize in unique female outfits, I’ve found most male outfits while opening these Twilight Fragment Shard Chests. Those outfits include Tuxedos and Jerseys. Not nearly as good as what the girls get, with their bikinis, battle panties, and maid uniforms. But I’m sure no one’s that surprised.

How to Farm Twilight Shards in Persona 3 Reload

Unfortunately, Twilight Shards can only be farmed slowly through Elizabeth’s requests or Tartarus. Completing requests for Elizabeth will sometimes reward you with more Twilight Shards. She will also give you shards as you level up more social links. You’ll sometimes find Twilight Shards in Tartarus through the destructible hand structures that glow blue. Twilight Shards have a one-time static spawn around certain locations on the map, which you can also go for.

To change a character’s outfit in Persona 3 Reload, head over to “Equip” on the main pause menu and select the character whose outfit you want to change. The character’s outfit should be an option beneath all their listed gear. And while you’re there, make sure you have the right armor and weapons equipped as well!
