Is Granblue Fantasy: Relink Crossplay? – Answered

Can you play with friends, regardless of console preference?

Embarking on a quest with some of your best friends is exhilarating, and Granblue Fantasy: Relink has plenty of adventures to set forth on. Can you play with your pals regardless of where they are playing, or is crossplay not allowed?

If you’re hoping to jump into some multiplayer sessions with your friends and you’re all playing on different consoles, you’ll be unfortunately out of luck. While multiplayer quests are available to jump into at nearly any time, you won’t be able to jump into cross-platform gameplay with those that aren’t on your current platform type. This means that PlayStation players will only have the chance to jump in with other PS platforms, and PC players can only play with other PC players.

If you’re hoping to engage in some cross-generation play, you’ll be happy to know it’s possible. Granblue Fantasy: Relink is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and players across the PlayStation family of consoles can join an online session together. While this may not make up for the lack of cross-platform play, it’s at least better than not being able to join up with someone because of their console generation.

This lessens the sting, but it also feels like a missed opportunity. There are plenty of other games like Monster Hunter: World that don’t allow for cross-platform play. Since the general structure of the online play is very similar in how it plays out, there could be either technical reasons that it isn’t included or to keep everything a bit more contained. Either way, make sure you and your friends know where you’re hoping to play so everyone can play together.

Be sure to keep your eyes on our Granblue Fantasy: Relink section below to learn more about the game, see what you’re in for when you start playing, and find out if it’s a turn-based or action RPG before you buy.
