While some of the more common drops in Warframe can be useful, it’s the rarest drops that often have the most effect. Here’s how to get and use a Legendary Core in Warframe.
Where to Find a Legendary Core in Warframe
Legendary Cores are almost exclusively dropped from the Sortie and Archon Hunt modes, which you can complete once a day and once a week respectively. This is on a 0.18% drop chance, so it’ll be a long time before a Legendary Core drops. Still, given how little you need to do either, it should be a nice little farm on the side alongside all the other rewards. You’ll also get a Legendary Core for each Mastery Rank test from Rank 30 and up, though this also takes a long time.
If you’re not in the mood for grinding for one, a Legendary Core can also be bought from other players for Plat. While trade chat prices can vary drastically, the current average price is around 135-140 Plat. This also means you can sell your own and get that much Plat, if you don’t want to use the Legendary Core for one reason or another.
What Do Legendary Cores Do?
Legendary Cores in Warframe are a single-use item that will upgrade any mod to its max rank instantly, with no cost in either Credits or Endo. This is useful on any mod with 10 Ranks, but is especially nice for mods like the Umbral set or Primed mods. If you use a Legendary Core to level a Rank 0 version of an Umbral or Primed mod, you’ll save about 40K Endo and 1,700,000 million Credits. Otherwise, standard Rank 10 mods are savings of around 30K Endo and 1,400,000 Credits.
