FFXIV: How to Unlock The Glided Araya Trial

One more fight to the end!

The long-promised extra Trial duty in FFXIV Endwalker is finally here after Patch 6.55, and players can now fight Asura themselves on The Glided Araya. And fortunately, the requirements are very simple too, so it won’t take long until you face this divinity.

Where to Unlock The Glided Araya (Asura) Trial in FFXIV

The Glided Araya is unlocked during the Gentleman at Heart quest in the Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures line. This is the final quest in the series and was introduced during 6.55 as a follow-up to Of Duplicity and Duplication. Said quest can be obtained at Radz-at-Han with Delion (X:11.4 Y:11.5), and it won’t take you long until you reach the Trial.

The duty is a regular 8-man Trial first presented during both the Las Vegas and the Japan FFXIV Fan Fests as a special fight. It was announced that the trial would find its way into the game later, and it did. It concludes the Hildibrand line for Endwalker, serving as a “final boss” just like Gilgamesh did in previous expansions.

After reaching a certain point during Gentleman at Heart, you’ll be teleported to the Glided Araya zone and the duty will be unlocked. Interact with the Entrance or open the Duty Finder to queue for it. Just like other Trials, The Glided Araya is featured in the Duty Roulette: Trials too.

As for the fight itself, Asura can be a bit tricky with its Iconic Execution attacks. This is a very visually telegraphed attack, so watch out for the giant version of Asura in the room as it is the main visual tell for it. Asura will first use a regular attack and later its giant version will repeat it, so dodge accordingly. Getting hit a few times can be lethal if you’re not a Tank, so be careful.

Aside from that, the Six-Bladed Khadga can also be tricky if you don’t remember the correct order in which she cleaves the room. A good method for me was picking a side and trying to stay there as much as possible. An example would be standing where 3 would be hit, dodging out of it after 2 goes out, and then returning to 3 and staying there until you need to dodge again. It can be confusing, but minimizing your movement is key.

Even if you wipe, you’ll probably get it during your next try, so don’t worry. The fight is easier than it seems, and it was a nice, although brief addition to the game during this final patch. While the Trial itself doesn’t reward you with anything, its associated quest does have a nice reward, so make sure you finish it!
