God of War: Ascension is a mere five days from release, ready to wrap gamers in a thrilling, violent new world where Kratos shapes himself into the warrior we know him as today. But in this latest adventure, it looks like you won’t have to go it alone.
Along with the previously announced multiplayer mode (a first for the series), Ascension will also include a new two-player co-op mode titled Trial of the Gods. In it, you and a friend can team up in a horde mode-style competition, where you clear your way through various stages of gorgons, Cerberuses, Cyclops, and satyrs, among other enemies. Making it through each round will get you closer to a medal once you finish, ranging from bronze to gold – that is, if you can get pass the final boss awaiting at the end.
Three maps will support the mode upon release – Lost Souls, Forum of Hercules and Rotunda of Olympus, and more will be released in the months ahead.
Find yourself a good partner and get to killing. It’s not nearly as easy as Kratos makes it look. We’ve included a trailer here to get you excited for it.
God of War: Ascension hits stores on March 12th.
