Best Characters for Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods in Genshin Impact

Geo is back, baby

While the 4.3 update for Genshin Impact was quite feeble in content, it still added a ton of new stuff for players such as the Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods artifact set. While there’s a clear intended user, other characters can also take advantage of this new equipment.

Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods Set Effects

Description
2-piece effect:ATK +18%
4-piece effect:After using an Elemental Skill, gain a 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 10s. While under a shield granted by the Crystallize Reaction, the above effect will be increased by 150%, and this additional increase disappears 1s after that shield is lost.

This new set focuses on Geo reactions, boosting the damage for the wearer up to 50% after grabbing a Crystallize fragment. This is the perfect boost that some non-DEF scaling characters of the element need. While the Husk set is perfect for the likes of Albedo or Itto, others like Ningguang were deemed obsolete as there was no really good 4-piece option for them.

The only downside is that the other set obtainable in the domain isn’t as great as this, also having a quite limited number of possible users. This shouldn’t be enough to discourage you from going for Nighttime Whispers if you really want it, but make sure you know what you’re getting into.

Best Characters for Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods in Genshin Impact

As previously mentioned, Attack-scaling Geo characters are the intended users for this set. There are only a few possible users for now, but maybe new characters will arrive in the future.

1 – Navia

This is her signature set and it works perfectly with her gameplay. Her hold Skill draws nearby crystals so she’ll never miss the timing on the 4-piece bonus. While you might have to sacrifice her Burst to trigger Crystallize first (if she’s the solo Geo in your party), the damage bonus you get for her Skill (her main nuke) is tremendous and worth the sacrifice. Get it for her as soon as you can.

2 – Ningguang

Ningguang has struggled since the game’s release as she never had a really useful 4-piece for her. This is probably the closest she ever got to that (excluding Marechaussee Hunter builds), but you still need to time your Burst perfectly to snap the 4-piece full bonus. Her autos can’t make full use of it, but are still boosted by the set nonetheless and it’s probably the best choice she’s ever got.

3 – Zhongli

The most niche user in the list. The Geo Archon is mostly used as a defensive unit. But if you want to go for a Burst support route, this set can be quite useful. Zhongli can easily trigger Crystallize with his pillars and immediately throw a huge meteor at your target’s house as soon as you grab a crystal for maximum damage. TotM is still better for most teams, but this set is viable and quite fun, to say the least.

All other Geo characters scale better with Defense and are usually better off using different sets, so there’s no point in farming a whole new set for them if they’re already well-built. But this set will probably only grow in value when new characters are eventually released. And maybe you can get some extra parts for this one if you’re going for the other loot you can grab in this Domain.
