Rhydon to Rhyperior Evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk

To evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior in Indigo Disk, you must obtain the Protector item and get your Rhydon to hold it before initiating a trade. Once you have this item, find it in your inventory and get Rhydon to hold it before starting a trade, causing Rhydon to evolve once the trade ends.

However, this means whoever receives Rhyperior will get the Pokemon and Pokedex entry. With that in mind, you’ll want to initiate a trade request with someone you trust will return it or with someone exchanging a Rhydon holding Protector. That way, you will both get the same Pokemon without losing anything.

How to Find Protector in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

Protector is an evolution item found in the Blueberry Academy school store for 250 BP. You’ll also find others like Electirizer and Magmarizer here, which you can use to evolve other Pokemon. As long as you have the BP for them, there’s no limit to how many you can purchase.

To get BP, you’ll have to finish Blueberry Quests, also known as BBQs. These usually involve finding Ditto Blocks, initiating surprise battles, and locating specific Pokemon. You can work on these solo to slowly generate points or team up with others to participate in group quests through the Union Circle.
