Nintendo, not looking to rest on its laurels with downloadable games for the Wii U (even though it hasn’t released any in a few weeks), came out of the flood gates today with a slew of newly announced downloadable games for the service, coming this spring.
Among these games are a new Wii U retail download that will be exclusive to the service, Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2. The beat-em-up will be released on February 7th.
Also in the pipeline are Bit.Trip Presents…Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Puddle, Toki Tori 2 and Zen Pinball 2, all of which have a Q1 2013 release period. The only game that has a specific date, aside from Ken’s Rage, is Sega’s The Cave, which will be arriving in the store on January 22nd – next week!
In addition, Nintendo also confirmed a few retail titles coming our way in the first half of 2013, including the mini-game compilation Game & Wario, the fitness-oriented Wii Fit U, Platinum’s multiple-hero action game The Wonderful 101, and the long-awaited sequel Pikmin 3. This is also just the beginning of Wii U game announcements, as several third parties confirmed their releases coming as well, which we’re covering in the news throughout today.
Looks like the Wii U is finally getting a push. Let’s see where it goes from here.
