It had been a while since we’ve heard from Jordan Mechner, the creator of Prince of Persia and its corresponding movie. A couple of months ago, however, we heard about a reboot of his classic 80’s Apple game Karateka, which we previewed here. Now we won’t have to wait too much longer to see how it turns out!

It has been announced on Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb’s blog page that the reboot from Mechner and the team at Liquid Entertainment will be launching on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, November 7th. The game will sell for 800 Microsoft points ($9.99) and will feature a variety of characters to face as you attempt to rescue a princess from an evil warlord’s castle.

No word yet on when the game will come to PlayStation Network, but it shouldn’t be too far off.

We can’t wait to see how this game fares. We might even play “Kung Fu Fighting” along with it. Hey, why not?
