Sensory Sweep Studios Founder/President Jailed and Fined For Unpaid Wages

If workers do stuff for you, you have to pay them.

In yet another sad story of one man trying to put himself ahead of everyone else, Dave Rushton, the founder and president of Sensory Sweep Studios, has been sentenced to a full year in prison and fined a total of $1.2 million for failing to pay wages to more than 100 of his employees, according to a story by the Associated Press.

This follows a lawsuit that was initially filed in 2009 by the U.S. Department of Labor, after hearing claims from employees that they haven’t been paid in more than 100 days.  Furthermore, their 401k wages?  Vanished.  No sign of ’em.

This isn’t the first bit of legal trouble for Rushton, as he also pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony charge for failing to file taxes back in 2010, and “engaging in a pattern of unlawful activity”.

It’s a shame, because Sensory Sweep worked on a number of games over the years, including My Japanese Coach for Nintendo DS, as well as the XBLA version of Street Fighter II and Alvin and the Chipmunks for Activision.

We wish the employees nothing but the best.  Hope you guys get paid.
