The expansion will be out on October 16 and has a rather piratey feel to it, arrr! As you might expect, there’s a character named Captain Scarlett who has some involvement. Like all good pirate should, she has one eye.

The DLC will apparently feature a brand new area ripe for plundering by the name of Oasis.

“You can sense the pirate theme across the landscape, even though there’s no water,” Gearbox ‘s president Randy Pitchford explained to the Asssociated Press. “It’s all dried up. It feels more like Tatooine than an ocean. These bandits have really embraced the pirate lifestyle, and there’s the legend of a treasure. That kicks off this whole adventure that the players can go on.”

You’ll find yourself battling sand worms, using a new sand skiff vehicle and gathering a new currency called seraph crystals. Mr. Pitchford has explained that the new campaign was created keeping players both new and experienced in mind.

There are four bits of DLC to expect over the next few months, which you’ll be able to pick up at $9.99 a pop, or you can grab a season pass for $29.99. Other DLC, such as the new Mechromancer Gaige, will be treated separately.
