Assassin’s Creed Mirage: What Language Should You Play In?

Should you play in your native tongue, or select a different language?

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to form in more ways than one, dropping players into a lovingly crafted version of 9th-Century Baghdad, full of rich culture and even richer folks to steal from. However, when you first start the game, you’ll be presented with many customization options that can help you make this experience your own. One that took me by surprise, however, was the option to select many languages, all while keeping my native English subtitles. Which language should you choose, and what is the best overall choice?

Which Language Should You Pick In Assassins Creed Mirage?

While you may be inclined to pick your native tongue to start playing through this epic adventure, the development team at Ubisoft Bordeaux hopes players jump into this adventure with the subtitles set to their native language and the spoken words set to Arabic for the most authentic experience. After swapping between all of the voice options on file, I decided to follow suit, and you can see and hear the results below.

As you can see, you’ll still be able to read along with what is being said, and it honestly helps lend to the experience. Thankfully, facial animations will match up with whatever language you pick, so you don’t need to worry about a disconnect in that regard. While I do not speak Arabic, the results sound great to my ears and have made me much more invested in the story overall since it feels like a proper period piece with authentic actors.
