How to Beat the Chimera in Cyberpunk 2077

Night at the robot museum

One of the best parts of Phantom Liberty is just how much action there is within the first few hours, and it doesn’t get more intense than the Chimera boss fight in Cyberpunk 2077. This boss can dish out some massive damage while tanking all your bullets, so I’m here with the best strategy to take it down. Here’s how to beat the Chimera in Cyberpunk 2077.

How to Defeat Chimera 0005-C M in Cyberpunk 2077 (Phantom Liberty)

To beat the Chimera boss, you need to shoot the metal plates that are on the underside of the machine and in the back. If you shoot any spots that are front-facing or on the top half, nearly all of the damage will be absorbed. The goal is to look for openings and then dump as much damage as you can in the weak points under the Chimera.

One of the best ways to tear the machine apart is to use the Vulnerability Analytics skill under the Relic Tree. This opens up a small area on all enemies that you can hit for a 100% crit chance and additional damage. Once you hit the designated red square enough times, it sends an EMP blast for even more damage.

How to Beat the Chimera in Phantom Liberty:

  • Stay behind the boss.
  • Shoot the weak point joints that are on the lower half of the machine.
  • Use pillars to absorb the red laser.
  • Jump on the platforms to avoid the EMP blast.

While you are looking for vulnerable points on the mechanical joints on the bottom side of the Chimera, you still need to play plenty of defense. Utilizing the pillars for cover is integral to dodging the red beams at a distance. Then you can also stay behind the Chimera and rotate with the machine to keep dealing damage.

Around the arena for the fight, there are turrets and tons of containers for ammo as well. Anytime the Chimera starts to charge up, make sure to jump up, and then you can start quick hacking the turrets if that’s your build in Cyberpunk 2077. And if you need more ammo, then check every corner. There is plenty of it.
