If you were a big fan of the Settlements system in Fallout 4, then you’re likely to be all over the Ouposts system in Starfield. The two systems are near identical in complexity, but both allow for plenty of customization provided you put in the required skill points. If you’ve made an Outpost or two though, you may be wondering how you can find them after you’ve gone to do other things. Here’s how to find your Outpost in Starfield.
How to See the Location of Your Outpost in Starfield
To find your Outpost in Starfield, open up the system map. This will display all the different star systems, along with little symbols that show where major settlements are located (i.e. the one in the Wolf system indicates the presence of The Den). Above the system with your Outpost, you should see a small symbol of a trapezoid with a door hole cut out. In my case, I found that in the Narion system.
Select the system, and you should see the same symbol above the planet/moon with your Outpost. Clicking on that planet brings up the planet view, where you should see your Outpost listed alongside its name. For me, my Outpost is planted on the planet of Sumati and is named Neveria. Click on it and hold the Land key to land at your Outpost, ready to do whatever you need to do there.
Is There Any Other Way to Keep Track of Your Outpost Locations?
It’ll take some setup, but there is another way to see where your Outposts are. If you build a Crew Station at each outpost and assign at least one crew member to each, you’ll have a list of all Outposts in your Crew menu. If you don’t know how to get there, open up your Data Menu and select your ship in the bottom left. From there, press the listed Crew key at the bottom of the screen and select Outposts. You can also assign Crew from this menu if you weren’t aware.
How Many Outposts Can You Have in Starfield?
You can have up to eight different Outposts at once, meaning you could possibly see eight of the above-mentioned symbols on your system map. There is a way to increase the maximum, though. If you level the Planetary Habitation skill (found in the Science tree) to Level 4, you can build an additional 16 Outposts, totaling out to 24 Outposts.
