How to Respec in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

You can always change your class.

Building a class can get confusing in Baldur’s Gate 3, and if you don’t like the path you took with yours, then there is always the option to respec your class. Before you can make any changes though, you need to unlock the respec option, and I’m here to help you reach it in this BG3 guide.

How to Change Your Class in Baldur’s Gate 3

To respec your class in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to speak to Withers at your camp and give him 100 gold. Anytime you rest and settle down for the day, Withers will be waiting with a vendor symbol over his head. It’s hard to miss him because he is likely the only undead companion you have in your camp.

When you hand over 100 gold, you can change your class, the specializations, and any of the skills you have chosen along the way. There doesn’t seem to be an increase in the price as the game progresses, so don’t be afraid to experiment.

Keep in mind that Withers does not appear at the camp by default in BG3. You need to find Withers and speak with him before he joins your camp for good. Luckily, it’s not too difficult to uncover the undead vendor.

Where to Find Withers in Baldur’s Gate 3

You can find Withers in the Dank Crypt, north of the Overgrown Ruins of Baldur’s Gate 3. You can easily reach these ruins after the Nautilus ship crashes at the start of the game. Or you can even discover the Druid Grove and head to the Dank Crypt after. Regardless of your path, you need to reach the crypt and find Withers.

When you enter the main Dank Crypt, head to the back corner where there is a closed room and a small staircase. If your perception roll passes, there will be a button. As soon as the button is pressed there will be a group of skeletons that attack. Take them down and head into the crypt room.

Now all you have to do is open the Richly Adorned Sarcophagus and speak to Withers. After a few questions are answered, he will join you and you can respec in BG3,

To use the camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, you still need to rest, and I have just the guide for you.
