Obtaining better weapons is one of the main gameplay loops in Remnant 2, but how about upgrading armor so that all the numerous bosses around each map have some trouble taking you down? In this guide, I’ll cover whether you can even upgrade armor in Remnant 2, and how you can increase your defense.
Can Armor be Upgraded in Remnant 2?
The short answer is no, there is no way to upgrade armor in Remnant 2 when you look at individual equipment pieces. Although upgrading weapons for more damage is an easy process, there is no option to increase the defense stats on armor in the same way. So when you find some fresh armor in the game, those stats you see will always be the same.
Even with no way to upgrade armor individually in Remnant 2, that doesn’t mean all hope is lost. You simply have to look for better alternatives instead of sticking to the armor you begin your adventure with. There are all kinds of armors hidden around the game and even an armor vendor at Ward 13 who sells some great items.

Your goal should be to find armor that has the best cross between weight and defense. Depending on your class, you may want more defense and less mobility, or vice versa. Either way, if you don’t like the stats on your current armor, I recommend buying a new set or exploring every corner of new worlds. Eventually, you will find a set you like.
Most of this applies to items like rings and amulets as well. Don’t focus on trying to upgrade them in Remnant 2; instead, look for better alternatives to make your character even more specialized.
