How to Find Malignant Tunnels in Diablo 4

Malignant Tunnels can be found in areas like the Dindai Flats of the Dry Steppes or The Pallid Glade in Fractured Peaks. These tunnels will spawn all around Sanctuary and they have a similar icon to the standard Dungeons that we’ve all been grinding since release. However, there are some easy identifiers for the tunnels.

Each of the Malignant Tunnels on the map will be marked with a green leaf logo over the Dungeon gate icon. When I was searching my map, if I zoomed out far enough, I could simply look for green dots that would mark a tunnel. Once you zoom back in, you can see the green leaf and the Malignant Tunnel Dungeon Affixes.

The Season 1 story will automatically take you to some of these Malignant Tunnels, including places like the Ravening Pit in the Dry Steppes. But far more will appear around the overall Sanctuary map that allows you to farm to your Caged Heart’s content.

What are Malignant Tunnels in Diablo 4 Season 1?

In essence, the Malignant Tunnels are just seasonal Dungeons that allow you to grind for Caged Hearts. Each tunnel will have a specific color that places it under one of the Caged Heart categories. Some tunnels will be marked as Brutal, while others may be called Vicious or Devious.

With all that said, the tunnels are full of Malignant Enemies and chances for the Caged Hearts you need in your build. This is the meat and potatoes of Season 1, so get familiar with it and prepare for plenty more.

Having your map unlocked will save you some time in this overall, so make sure to have your map progress saved in Diablo 4 before jumping in.
