XDefiant BRAVO-04 Error Explained – Can You Fix It?

Encounter the BRAVO-04 error in XDefiant is usually caused by at least one of the following reasons:

  • Ubisoft/XDefiant’s servers are down
  • You’re experiencing internet connectivity issues

When you encounter the BRAVO-04 error, you’ll find a message saying you cannot connect to the internet and to check your network settings. While player-side connectivity issues can cause this, it can also be the game’s servers getting overloaded, especially during the first few days of launch when XDefiant’s player counts peak.

With that said, there are a few solutions to try out.

Check XDefiant’s Server Status and Social Media

The first thing you should do with any game and its errors is check its server status to see if it is a server-side or client-side issue. One of the best places to check is the official XDefiant Twitter page, where they regularly post updates on server issues and other important announcements.

Alternatively, you can check out the Ubisoft Support Twitter page and the Ubisoft Help site for direct customer support.

If either of these resources tells you there are active server issues that the development team is working on resolving, you may have to sit back and wait for more updates. In the meantime, there are some other solutions you can try.

Check Your Internet Connection

As simple as this may sound, things happen, and we may occasionally have internet outages or little blips in connection. It happens to me all the time, and I don’t even notice it half the time! If you check your internet and see that it is offline while attempting to play, restart your router before rechecking. For those on PC, you can also check out your Windows Defender Firewall settings to see if that conflicts with XDefiant.

On the Ubisoft Help page I linked earlier, you can also find resources such as how to troubleshoot connectivity issues, allowing you to test your internet connection and look for various solutions for your specific platform/console.

In many cases, errors like this result from servers overloading from an influx of players. During these situations, we either have to wait for things to relax or keep trying to log in until it works.
