EA has unveiled Army of Two Devil’s Cartel, the third game of the violent shooter.

The game is currently only announced for Xbox 360 and PS3, and has been passed onto Dead Space studio Visceral Games. The title features online or local play with real friends in split-screen co-op.

The story follows PMC operatives Alpha and Bravo as they attempt to go solve the problems of the drug cartel wars in Mexico. An easy feat I’m sure you’ll agree.

EA says the game will feature a much “deeper and more advanced upgrade and customization system.”

Visceral’s exec producer Julian Bleak said the following on the new title: “With meaningful, seamless co-op gameplay at its core and explosive new tag-team features, gamers will have to work together tactically and strategically as they push through a city dominated by one of Mexico’s deadliest drug cartels.”

General manager Steve Papoutsis also had some stuff to say: “Our goal with Army of Two The Devil’s Cartel is to apply our key design principles – immersive, challenging gameplay, intense narrative and focus on quality – to help improve a franchise we feel has always had a lot of potential.”

Game Informer’s cover reveal page features a video with a little more information and some lovely footage of buildings being destroyed (yay).

We’re looking forward to seeing Alpha and Bravo back in action. Are you?
