Seth Killian Departing Capcom This Week

Killian, a long time Capcom staffer and contributor to Street Fighter IV and other games, is leaving the company.

Things change pretty quickly in this industry.  Just when you think someone’s going to get comfortable in a position, they depart for a new project, out to try something new.  First it was Robert Bowling departing Infinity Ward, and now Seth Killian, one of Capcom’s most recognizable faces, is leaving to do his own thing.

Killian announced yesterday that he is leaving the company, one that he’s been a part of since 2006 with a community role.  He’s also provided input in a number of fighting games, mainly Street Fighter IV.  Clearly the company won’t be the same without him.

But their break-up is not a bitter one. “I have chosen a new path which will let me embrace a new dream, but to everyone that ever believed in this dream we shared together, let me say this final thanks,” he wrote. “I will leave as I began–a Capcom fan for life, looking forward to all the great games still to come.”

“Capcom thanks Seth for his invaluable contributions to the company and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” the company said.

Good luck to Seth with whatever he has in mind.  Maybe a fighting game…?
