Which Weapons Should You Upgrade in Resident Evil 4 Remake? – Answered

Upgrades, people. Upgrades!

It is surprising just how deep the weapon sandbox of Resident Evil 4 Remake can be, even as a third-person shooter. You would think it would simply be a few guns with the odd flat upgrades here and there, but the remake offers a wide array of weapon upgrades, attachments, and weapon types to make your choice of arsenal the best it can be. To that end, you may be wondering which weapons you should invest your hard-earned funds on. Here are which weapons you should upgrade in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Best Weapons to Upgrade in Resident Evil 4 Remake

While you should focus your upgrades on the weapons that feel the most fun to use, there are a few that objectively stand taller than the rest. We have narrowed down three different weapons that we feel are the best to focus your money on, with one being the absolute best:

  • Striker Shotgun (acquired during Chapter 10)
    • While the first two shotguns in Resident Evil 4 Remake are strong, nothing can surpass the damage per second of the Striker. This powerhouse of a shotgun will tear apart anything you throw your shells into, and only gets far better with some upgrades. If you use your exclusive upgrade ticket, reloading the weapon becomes a non-factor. What more could you want from a shotgun?
  • CQBR Assault Rifle (acquired during Chapter 10)
    • While the only fully automatic rifle in the game can suffer from recoil issues, those willing to tap fire it will find it extremely powerful. Power makes this thing a one-tapping machine of carnage, with ammo and reload speed upgrades only making it feel nicer. Do not even get us started on that beautiful 1.5x power upgrade from the exclusive ticket.
  • Red9 Handgun (acquired during Chapter 4)
    • You will recall that we mentioned that one of these guns was the absolute best to upgrade, and if you pick the Red9 up for the first time, you might disagree with that. If you are willing to give it the tender love and care it deserves though, this little beast will demolish anything that stands in your way. It was the one gun we upgraded first in our time with Resident Evil 4 Remake, and you should too. You will not regret it.

An honorable mention has to go out to the small yet efficient LE 5. While it barely did not make our top three, it is still a worthwhile gun to run yourself and see if you like it. Who knows, maybe you will disagree with us and find it your favorite. While we are on the subject of weapons, here is our guide on all weapons available in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
