Resident Evil 4 Remake’s puzzles are more often complex than they are straightforward. Just look at the stained-glass puzzle early on in the game, or the cave shrine puzzles you find during the lake chapters. They are not super easy to get, but once you do, it is incredibly satisfying. When it comes to a puzzle within Salazar Castle, it is not too difficult but can trip some people up. Here is how to complete the Sword Puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
How to Solve the Sword Puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake
As said, you will first come across this puzzle during your time in Salazar Castle with Ashley. Ahead of you is four different murals, all missing a sword but depicting a knight’s life. Three of them will contain swords, while one sword spot will be missing. To get the fourth sword, you will need to open a nearby door that depicts several animals in its center. Shoot or melee the small discs depicting those animals, and the door will open to the Bloody Sword. Bring that back, and you will be ready to solve the puzzle.
Now that you have all four swords, you are looking to place them wherever appropriate for the current scene. The first depicts a knight standing guard, and thus he would likely be wielding the Iron Sword. The second shows a king rewarding the knight for his service, and thus the Golden Sword would make sense. The third depicts the knight stabbing his opponent through the chest, so a Bloody Sword would make sense. Finally, with the knight in the grave, his sword now being a Rusty Sword would add up. Place all four swords in their respective spots, and the door will open allowing you to proceed.
