Testing periods are bound to have lots of problems and unexpected situations. Their final objective is to stress the servers, after all, especially when it comes to the Diablo 4 Server Slam. So is not unexpected to run into random crashes, disconnects, huge queue times, and various other problems that will hopefully be absent in the game’s actual release. One of these errors is “Selected Party Member Was Not Found (error code 316703)”, and we’ll explain more about it below.
Selected Party Member Was Not Found Error Code 316703 in Diablo 4 Explained
From teleporting to random places to being unable to change areas, things can go really bad for Diablo 4 testers. The 316703 error happens whenever you’re trying to play Co-op, and one of the party members gets disconnected. When the booted-out person tries to get back into the game, they are met with the “Selected Party Member Was Not Found (error code 316703)” message.
Other party members who weren’t disconnected should be fine. Unless they also run into some unexpected error, of course. There seems to be no specific trigger for this since various random actions may cause a sudden disconnect. The unlucky one won’t be able to log back into the game even if their online Party Members disband said party.

It seems that the only solution is to boot the game up again, but having to face that inhuman queue time once again doesn’t sound very tempting. The “real solution” would be to avoid playing Co-op at all, but that goes completely against the whole idea of playing an online game, especially if you’ve been waiting the whole week to enjoy it with your friends.
Exploration and dungeons also are way more enjoyable with more people, so I wouldn’t recommend isolating yourself to simply avoid one error. There’s still an infinity of others who can hit you regardless of playing solo or coop, so don’t throw a wrench in your own fun for nothing. Just pray that you won’t be hit with any of them, and you should be fine. Again, this is a Beta test, so errors are to be found.
