All Discovered Secrets and Cheat Codes in the Resident Evil 4 Demo Listed

Does IDKFA still work?

Fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of Resident Evil 4 Remake got a taste of the early game thanks to the recently available Chainsaw Demo. Available for all planned platforms, the demo takes place in the game’s prologue, where you’ll control Leon as he enters the rural Spanish village and takes down infected cult members hell-bent on dismembering him in a variety of ways. Though the demo alone is exciting enough, Capcom was gracious enough to include some interesting secrets hidden within to keep players coming back for more. Here’s all the discovered secrets and cheat codes in the Resident Evil 4 demo.

All Discovered Secrets and Cheat Codes in the Resident Evil 4 Demo Listed

As of now, there are two major secrets that have been discovered by players in the Resident Evil 4 demo, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more. We’ll make sure to keep this page updated if anything else surfaces before the game’s launch on March 24, 2023.

How to Unlock Mad Chainsaw Mode in Resident Evil 4 Demo

Care for something brutally challenging? If the available difficulties just aren’t scratching your hardcore gamer itch, you can enable Mad Chainsaw Mode to really test your skills. Mad Chainsaw Mode is a hidden difficulty that only appears in the Resident Evil 4 demo, as opposed to the full game.

Enemies will be stronger, obviously, but they’ll also spawn in different locations, keeping players on their toes. Additionally, there are no checkpoints, meaning any deaths will knock you right back to the beginning. To enable Mad Chainsaw Mode, input the following commands on the main menu screen while hovering over the Main Game option:

  • PS4 / PS5 – (while holding L1 and R1) up, left, down, right, Square, Triangle, Circle, X, X
  • Xbox Series X|S – (while holding LB and RB) up, left, down, right, X, Y, B, A, A
  • PC – (while holding Shift and Space) W, A, S, D, R, I, E, F

How to Unlock the TMP Submachine Gun in Resident Evil 4 Demo

If you’re attempting an extreme type of difficulty, why not up your arsenal a bit? The TMP Submachine gun is a secret weapon you can unlock after following a few peculiar steps:

  • Begin the demo, make your way to the cabin, and kill your first enemy
  • Before moving forward, open up your inventory and drop everything from it
  • Enter the village, and sneak towards the fenced path on your right (see below)

  • Continue down the path until you reach a well with a ladder poking out
  • Descend down the hole, and open the chests inside

You’ll find the TMP Submachine gun and some ammo to go along with it. Best of all, after finding the TMP SMG the first time, it’ll spawn in your inventory for all your future playthroughs of the demo. Time to make mince meat out of some Ganados.
