Naughty Dog’s gritty-looking post-apocalyptic survival title has been officially slated for release in 2013.
President of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida revealed the news when speaking to VG24/7, stating: “We are not ready to talk about 2013, but some of the games we showed like God of War and The Last of Us are not coming out this year.”
With the aforementioned titles coming next year the biggest titles Sony are offering for Q4 2012 are LittleBigPlanet Karting and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Industry critics may well call this out a good move since holiday releases are becoming arguably overcrowded these days as more and more developers fight for those precious Christmas bucks.
The Last of Us follows two survivors fighting hard to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic and overgrown Pittsburgh. We think it looks fantastic but judge for yourselves with the brand new bit of gameplay footage fresh from E3 below.
