While the best pieces of equipment are usually earned from Savage Raids and Tomestones, crafted items in Final Fantasy XIV are usually more than enough for you to go through most of the current content. They’re always a good choice if you have some Gil to spare or can manually craft them. And eventually, they get an Augmented version, which requires certain items such as Crystalline Rain to make.
You’ll probably need a lot of these, but they’re not as hard to get as it seems. Crystalline Rain, in particular, has gotten easier in recent times, so here’s what you need to do in order to get it.
How to Get Crystalline Rain in FFXIV
Crystalline Rain can be bought from Hilicen at Eulmore (X:10.9 Y:10.7) in the Rain Exchange option for 50 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each. They’re required to buy the Level 80 Augmented Exarchic equipment in the same NPC, and the exact amount needed will vary according to the item.

You’ll also require the Eulmoran Certificates of Grandeur to buy those enhanced equipment pieces, which are also earned in the same NPC by giving your own regular Exarchic equipment. After going through this whole overly-complicated process, you’ll finally get your enhanced items to equip.
Those equipment are some of the best ones available for its specific level range, but it’s usually easier to buy the Augmented Cryptlurker pieces when leveling through 80 – 90 as those also cost Tomestones, but you don’t need to sacrifice a different kind of equipment to get it.
They’re still a good option if you were low on Tomes and decided to grind on those levels with some pieces you got from the Market Board, and now you want some upgrades on them. But if you’re looking for glamour pieces, the regular versions are exactly the same models as the Augmented, so there’s no real need to go for them.
