Best Build for Completing Legendary Lost Sectors in Destiny 2

It's much easier when they can't shoot back

Lost Sectors are essentially mini strikes you can breeze right through. But on Legend difficulty, they can prove to be a challenge. Fortunately, there is a build that makes completing these mini-strikes much easier. Here is how to make the best build to complete the Legendary Lost Sectors in Destiny 2.

Best Build for Completing Legendary Lost Sectors in Destiny 2

If you are trying to complete the Seasonal Challenge Lost in the Legend or just trying to get a Lost Sector exclusive Exotic, you are going to need to take down a Lost Sector on Legend Difficulty. But this is easier said than done, with the difficulty in Destiny 2 being increased with the release of Lightfall.

But with this build, even Guardians with low power levels can take down any Legend Lost Sector. At least if you have Strand, good positioning, and patience. And while I would like to claim I came up with build myself, credit goes fully to Suttledge on Twitter.

Here is what you are going to need.

Step 1. Unlock Strand.

Strand is the latest subclass to come to Destiny, and it’s the foundation of this build. To get it, you will need to complete the Lightfall campaign.

Step 2. Equip these Aspects

Unlocking Aspects for Strand can be quite the grind but prioritize the following, with bolded being particularly important.

  • Thread of Generation – Dealing damage generates grenade energy
  • Thread of Continuity – Suspend, unravel, and sever effects applied to targets have increased duration
  • Thread of Isolation – Landing rapid precision hits emits a severing burst from the target
  • Thread of Ascent – Activating your grenade ability reloads your equipped weapon and grants bonus airborne effectiveness and handling for a short duration

Step 3. Equip the Shackle Grenade

This grenade is key! Not only will it allow you to trim down mobs, you can use it on Champions! The only exception being Overload Champions, so equip a gun and mod that will stun those if they’re present in your Lost Sector.

Step 4. Equip Osteo Striga

Osteo Striga is an Exotic Weapon that causes poison damage with either final blows or multiple precision hits. It’s available upon completing the Witch Queen campaign.

Step 5. Optional: Equip Necrotic Grip

This is an Exotic Gauntlet exclusive to Warlocks and, for this build, it is very potent. When you damage combatants while wearing this Gauntlet, you will poison them, dealing increasing damage over time. Defeating a poisoned combatant spreads the condition.

How the Build Works

While it is not necessary to have Osteo Striga, the Strand subclass and Shackle Grenades are essential. That is because Osteo Striga’s continuous tick damage will feed the Thread of Generation, causing your Grenades to regenerate at a much faster rate. You can accelerate this even further by setting up your Armor to prioritize Discipline mods.

Use your Shackle Grenade against pretty much any enemy that is not the final boss. Even Barrier Champions (who do not have the barrier up) and Unstoppable Champions are susceptible to this tactic. And with the extended duration of Thread of Continuity, they will stay vulnerable for a long time.

With this build, I was able to run a Legend Lost Sector with a Power Level below 1800 fairly easily. But you still need to exercise good game sense and positioning to see it all the way through.
