Pokemon Go Spoofing

What is Spoofing in Pokemon Go? – Answered

I was only traveling really quick, I swear

Pokemon GO is quite innovative by making players actually have to go out of their houses to play the game. But it sucks that you actually have to go out of your house to play the game. There are quite a few alternatives for that, though, and there’s a very popular method used for finding roaming Pokémon without having to open your bedroom door ever again. I’m talking about Spoofing, of course.

Spoofing is exactly what it sounds like. You basically trick your phone’s GPS making it believe that you’re in a different place than you actually are. With that, you can simply travel through your neighborhood, your city or even your whole country to catch Pokemon from literally anywhere you want.

It was very popular when the game was released, with people mainly using it to play the game on their computers (by using an Android emulator) literally across the whole world.

Spoofing is still very popular to this day, but there are some issues since it’s essentially tempering with your phone and your game. For that reason, if it wasn’t obvious enough by now, spoofing goes against the game’s Terms of Service. Quoting their exact position on the matter:

For the purposes of this policy, we define cheating as behaviors that violate the Pokémon GO Terms of Service and Trainer Guidelines, such as falsifying location (GPS location spoofing) and accessing Pokémon GO clients or backends in an unauthorized manner, including through the use of third-party software or add-ons.

Spoofing your location can get you easily banned, so do it at your own leisure. In case you’re still interested in doing it, be careful with those suspicious-looking sites out there promising you a New 2023 Free Fake GPS App Pokemon Go or something. Be sure to know what you’re doing to your phone, and be aware that your account could be at risk if they detect some unusual activity.
