Typically, when you want to create potions, you head into your Room of Requirement, go to your potion station and make one. Your options range from healing potions to the Felix Felicis if you have the PlayStation Pre-Order Exclusive. However, this isn’t the case for Polyjuice. Instead, you’ll have to progress far enough into the main storyline to reach the Polyjuice Plot quest.

During the mission, you’ll work with Professor Fig and get an opportunity to drink this potion to become a specific person. To avoid spoilers, I won’t divulge who you turn into or why. Regardless, this is the one and only chance you’ll have to use this potion! Fortunately, it fulfills its purpose well, as you’ll find out throughout the quest.

That said, this also means that you won’t gain the crafting recipe or any other methods of drinking the potion a second time. It also doesn’t drop from any enemies or come up in conversation often outside this quest. It’s a mysterious item, and your character is one of the few people who get to try it.
