And so it begins. The Lightfall campaign we’ve all been waiting for. We’ve got a long road ahead of us, so let’s jump right into it. Here’s how to complete the Destiny 2 Mission Under Siege.

Start the mission, and you’ll find yourself… precisely where you started the mission. But now everyone is gone. That doesn’t matter, though. All that matters is reaching the Veil. So, let’s get to it.

Reach the Veil: Follow the Road to Zephyr Concourse

Jump down into the city and head right up the ramp. You’ll soon see some graffiti, which is how we know we’re going the right way. Keep following the road, and you’ll eventually hit Zephyr Concourse. And just a few meters away is Cabal fighting with the Vex.

You’ll need to get through them, so throw your hat into the fight and start shooting.

Find Shadow Legion Keycards

Once the Vex and Cabal are dead, you’ll be tasked with finding the Keycard being held by one of the Cabal Commanders. Turn left, and you’ll see more Vex down the road. Head towards them. As they say, where there are enemies, there’s an objective.

But be wary; as you approach the Vex, two Cabal pods will drop. They’ll have Psions and two Gladiators, so keep your distance.

Once the Cabal and Vex are dead, head towards the domed building up the flight of stairs. More Cabal will spawn behind you, so shoot them down fast.

In front of you, more Cabal will spawn, including two Psion snipers. One on the far right and the other at the top of the stairs. Fight your way through the Cabal hoards and one of the larger Cabal (the Shadow Legion Code Bearer) will drop a Corrupted keycard. This is one of four cards that you’ll need.

Head back down the stairs, and a new Card Bearer and hoard of Cabal will spawn. Defeat the Card Bearer, then turn left, heading towards the giant cylinder light.

As you approach the light, you’ll see there’s a walkway that goes around it. Turn right, then keep going straight until you see the Code Bearer.

Defeat him, pick up the Code, then turn around. We’ll need to go in the exact opposite direction to get the last code.

Examine the Barrier

With all four keycards, you’ll need to jump up on the nearby bridge and then head towards the giant orange barrier. There will be a lot of opposition: Cabal and Vex both. Take them down and be mindful of the turrets at the end of the bridge. If you’re not weary, they can gun down an unshielded Guardian quite fast.

Approach the console beside the orange barrier and hack it.

Defend Ghost: Waves Defeated 1 – 3

Your Ghost will begin the hacking process, and you’ll need to defend it from three waves of enemies. The first wave is Cabal, the second is Vex and Cabal, and the third is Cabal. The second wave is oddly the hardest, as the Vex will push aggressively, and the broken ones can leave pools of electricity after being defeated for a short period.

Defeat them all, and you’ll find there’s… a second barrier. Head towards it.

Lower the Second Barrier

There’s a pile of explosive barrels by the barrier. Shoot them, and the barrier will fall. Easy enough! On to the next step.

Reach the Veil: Travel Through Neomuna to Reach the Veil

Go straight through the corridors, past various hologram-potted palm trees. You’ll reach Esi Terminal. You’ll soon be impacted by a Suppression Field. This Suppression Field destroys your Super energy, preventing you from recharging it.

But, even worse, there’s a Campaign Banner spot. Put down the banner anyway, because why not? Now prepare yourself for a fight.

Head up the stairs, and you’ll see a strange artifact at the top of the stairs. It’s from here that the Suppression Field is coming from. But we can’t do anything about it right now. Continue up the stairs, and a few Cabal drop pods will hit the ground.

So begins our boss battle against Vul’ourn, Shadow Legion Supply Master

How to Defeat Vul’ourn, Shadow Legion Supply Master

Vul’ourn is a massive Cabal who will spawn in with a few Phalanx, Psions, and Legionary. Take down his allies and use the box near the Suppression Field artifact to take cover and snipe away at Vul’ourn. Long-range weapons are incredibly effective here, as Vul’ourn will never go down the stairs. The only thing you need to worry about is the War Dogs that will appear at a set time on the left ramp.

Whittle down Vul’ourn, and he’ll start to retreat. Move forward, up the stairs, and use the glowing purple cylinder as cover. Vul’ourn’s cowardice makes him a boss that’s easy to grind down. You just need to be patient.

When he falls, approach the second artifact on the metal platform. There will be a chest there. Go and pick up your loot, and you’ll be treated to a cutscene. Which is… ominous, to say the least.

Head back to Nimbus, and you’ll also be able to get a new Lightfall weapon: Dimensional Hypotrochoid, which is a real world! Who knew?
