The scoop comes from The Hollywood Reporter, who have revealed it to be a prequel to the straight-to-DVD film from 2010. This time will apparently see a full-theatre release for the tie-in movie.

The director goes by the name of Prachya Pinkaew, and being responsible for the fantastic Thai film Ong Bak, we’re hoping for some big things. If anything, it’ll surely look stunning. The plan is to cast actors who resemble Tekken characters from the game rather than using superstars.
