If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that raining down death and destruction with a variety of unique guns feels good. That’s one of the key components of Destiny, but one particular type of gun just feels better than every other. I’m talking about machine guns: guns with huge ammo clips that can absolutely decimate an entire room or shave off a significant amount of health on a yellow-bar before you even think about reloading. And one machine gun to consider picking up before the season ends is Chain of Command. Here’s how to get Chain of Command in Destiny 2.
How to Get Chain of Command in Destiny 2
Chain of Command is an Adaptive Frame Legendary Stasis Machine Gun that has a few unique perks that makes it excellent for Grenade builds. Fortunately, getting it is as easy as going to the Tower and being rich.
Chain of Command is a Season of the Haunted Weapon that was originally only available by obtaining ranks with playlist vendors like The Drifter, Lord Shaxx, and Zavala. But since then, it’s joined the limited arsenal available at the Monument to Lost Lights. Monument to Lost Lights can be found between the two Vault consoles, beneath the golden statues.
Interact with the Monument, and you’ll see there are two options: Exotic Gear Archives and Legacy Gear.
Head into Legacy Gear and you’ll find Chain of Command in the first row, already Masterworked and at your average Power Level. How convenient! Less convenient is the cost. You’ll need the following resources:
- 75,000 Glimmer
- 100 Legendary Shards
- 2 Enhancement Prism
- 1 Ascendant Shard

You can also choose its perks once you purchase it. And since this Machine Gun is best for PvE, the best roll for it is:
- Basic Barrel → Arrowhead Brake. +26 Recoil, +10 Handling.
- Basic Magazine → High-Caliber Rounds. Range +5.
- Basic Trait 1 → Adrenaline Junkie: This weapon gains increased damage and handling from final blows with grenades on this weapon. Between 6.6% – 33%.
- Basic Trait 2 → Demolitionist: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
As you can see, great synergy with Grenades. And Demolitionist allows you to mitigate one of the worst aspects of this gun: it’s awful reload time.
