You Won’t Need a High-End PC for Onimusha Way of the Sword
Solid performance!
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming to PC and consoles in September, and CAPCOM has already given us a taste with its excellent demo. With the title available for pre-order, CAPCOM has also shared the system requirements for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and it’s fairly manageable.

While the requirements mention “upscaling,” Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a fairly optimized release, at least based on the demo’s performance. To play at 4K at the Ultra preset, you’ll need something like an RTX 4070 Ti with 12 GB of VRAM paired with a Ryzen 7 5700. I’m unsure why CAPCOM doesn’t list native resolutions, but thankfully, things aren’t anywhere near as dire as Monster Hunter: Wilds.

On my 4070 Super with the DLSS set to the Quality preset, I was getting 100+ FPS throughout the demo at 1440p. Setting it to DLAA brought it down to a respectable 80-90s range with no major drops in sight. The frametime line is smooth, and it’s a great RE Engine title that delivers a consistent experience, at least in the demo portions. It also supports FSR 3.1 so you can get reasonable image quality even if you have an AMD GPU.
You can try out the demo yourselves from the links below:
It should also give you a good idea of what to expect from your PC for the full release. Though since this is a work in progress, there’s a good chance that the final release will run even better.
