WoW Dragonflight’s Seeds of Renewal Patch Release Date and Details

When's Gilneas? Chewsday innit?

The mid-season patch is almost here! World of Warcraft Dragonflight’s Seeds of Renewal is dropping in just two weeks on January 16; let’s see what’s in store.

WoW: Dragonflight Seeds of Renewal Content Additions

Dragonride Anywhere

When Dragonriding was first shown, some players lamented that it would be a cumbersome chore. Now, everyone complains they can’t use it (even optionally) on the old content continents. Well, starting January 16, you’ll be able to swap between the old and new “Dynamic” style of flying anytime, anywhere!

Azerothian Archives

These story quests promise some lore exposition and feature group or solo activities in Traitor’s Rest. They’ll have their own Weekly Public Event (like Timerifts or the Superbloom) with new rewards “like Battle Pets, Mounts, and Transmog.”

Gilneas Reclamation

We’re finally going back to one of WoW’s best cities: the Worgen capital of Gilneas. Not much detail on what this will look like yet, but here’s hoping it’s a fully functioning capital city that we can spend time roleplaying as sickly Victorian children in.

Follower Dungeons

Similar to FFXIV’s system of “NPC Dungeons,” Follower Dungeons let you take some NPC friends into Dungeons for a more steady-paced experience. These will be usable in all eight Normal Dragonflight Dungeons and scale from 1-4 players.

New Character Customizations

Trolls and Draenei are getting some new looks, as are the Tyrant and Darkglare Warlock demons.

For a full rundown of the content in Blizzard’s own words, check out the blogpost right here. Personally, I’ll take just about any excuse to go grind out some new transmog.

All in all, it’s a pretty expected medium-sized mid-season patch to smooth out the wait for the War Within. If you’re looking for some details on the new expansion and can’t quite wait, check out how Hero Talents are shaking things up.
