How to Sign Up for the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Beta

The World of Warcraft: Shadowlands beta will begin sometime during the week of July 13th. Players can sign up for the beta by visiting the Shadowlands website and selecting “Beta Opt-In” at the top of the screen. From there, simply sign in to your Battle.net account and select the option to receive beta invites. Unfortunately, it does seem the Shadowlands beta access is limited, so everyone who signs up might not make it in. Although, if you were part of the alpha testing team in April, there seems to be a good chance you’ll get in the beta.

During a livestream event this July, developers reconfirmed that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands would be shipping this fall and that the team had not fallen behind with the COVID-19 pandemic. Further during the stream, it was revealed that the Shadowlands beta signups were live and that eager players could go ahead and join the list for a chance to get in and try it out.

The Shadowlands is a world between worlds that preserves the balance between life and death and is home to the departed. In the expansion, players will be granted the power to visit The Shadowlands and will be tasked with stopping a plot to unmake the cosmos. During the beta, players will be able to explore new zones and dungeons and will experience a fairly complete build of the expansion, according to Ion Hazzikostas, the game’s director. Beta testers will be able to access pretty much every feature that will be available and launch and can even level up their character to the level cap. However, it is worth noting that progress made during the beta will not carry over to the expansion’s full launch this fall.
