Will Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Have an Early Access Period? – Answered

Pandora will have to wait till launch.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to release in just over a week on December 7, though you may be wondering if there’s a way you can play it early. Here’s whether Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will have an early access period.

Can You Play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Early?

As of writing, it appears that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will not have an early access period of any kind. You can purchase more expensive editions of the game and receive content such as the Season Pass, but you’ll be launching the game at the same time as everyone else on December 7. This goes in stark contrast to the rest of the AAA gaming space, which often gives a few days of early access to those who are willing to pay up.

There are a few reasons why Ubisoft might not have gone this route. For one, it’s often considered a scummy way to get more people on board since it’s getting more money to play the game at what is essentially its launch date. The other reason could be how much they expect to get out of this game. It’s a new Ubisoft IP (even if Avatar is an established franchise), so it doesn’t have as much traction as something like Far Cry does.

Will the DLCs Do the Same Thing?

Since we’ll be waiting a while for the DLCs of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, we can’t say anything for certain just yet. However, it’s likely they’ll follow suit with the launch. There’s not much reason to switch things up unless they’re testing something specific to see how DLC sales go. It would also harm those who already bought the season pass, which isn’t great.
