The Sims 4 June 2020 Update Crash Error

If your game has started crashing ever since the June 2020 update, you’re not alone. Lots of players have been flooding Reddit and the official EA help forum to let developers know that something isn’t right. The Sims 4 June 2020 update crash error seems to mostly be affecting players that are using a Mac. Based on reports, players will be playing the game like normal and all of a sudden the software will shut down, forcing them to restart the game.

Further, some players are reporting that after the crash that they are unable to load back into the game at all. This is certainly disappointing to players, especially on the heels of an update and with the Eco Lifestyle expansion coming to all platforms later this month. Plus, encountering bugs in general in video games is always a pain. So is there a fix for The Sims 4 June 2020 update crash? Unfortunately, there is not.

Plenty of players have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, restarting the game, and even deleting some of the games core files, but have had no luck. It seems the issue is on the development side and has nothing to do with the local files. In all likelihood, there was some type of issue with the update when it was pushed live. Thankfully, The Sims 4 is one of EA’s biggest properties, so developers are likely already working to fix the update crash error. The bad news is, there really isn’t anything to do but wait it out.

Hopefully, things will get patched up before the Eco Lifestyle expansion goes live on June 5. The new expansion is all about going green and allows players to help make a variety of eco-friendly changes in their life. Players can help clean up Evergreen Harbor, purchase new, eco-friendly appliances for their homes, learn to make things on your own, and work to become a voice in your community for change.
