Apex Legends Crypto Lore

The lore of the newest character for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale game was shown off in a brand new Stories from the Outlands video titled “Forever Family.” This lore video shows off the character before his days as a competitor where he is a computer genius working with another character named Mila Alexander. Our main character discovers a new security protocol that he decrypts with the help of Mila. The two characters soon find that they have decoded a prediction program that would allow someone to rig any match of the Apex Legends games. Mila is excited to use this program to start a new life for her and Crypto. However, he does not want to use the program in fear of being targeted and killed.

Crypto wakes up the next day and discovers that Mila had used the program and has been kidnapped by an unknown syndicate group. The same group attacks Crypto and forces him to retreat. Following an adrenaline-fueled chase, he can escape. With his normal life ruined, Crypto accepts his fate and transforms into the hacker character that players will be using in Season 3: Meltdown of Apex Legends.
