Rumors have been swirling for a while about the potential protagonists in GTA 6, and now that the first trailer has been released, we have a better idea of who the main characters are. So far, it seems like the first female protagonist is on track to happen.
Everything We Know About the GTA 6 Protagonists
The main protagonist in GTA 6 is Lucia, who happens to be the first female main character in the franchise. A male character, who is potentially named Jason, is the other protagonist of Grand Theft Auto 6. Aside from those two, there is no substantial information about other characters making an appearance in the main lineup.
Based on the first trailer for the game, Lucia and Jason are a couple that are also partners in crime. They can be seen in getaway cars and sticking up a store with bandanas like any good GTA character would. Out of the two of them, though, it’s clear that Lucia is the main protagonist for the full game and will likely be the face.
The first trailer opens up with Lucia being introduced in a roundabout way while she’s incarcerated. She was already rumored for months at this point, but the official footage confirms those leaks. Jason, on the other hand, is still just a name. But considering Jason and Lucia have been leaked in tandem, the name is likely real.
Whether we play these characters in equal parts still remains to be seen. The first GTA 6 trailer is just the beginning, and the game won’t release until 2025. That leaves time for numerous trailers in between and plenty of news along the way.
