When Will FNAF AR: Special Delivery Shut Down? – Answered

It appears that players will only have until March 14, 2024, to enjoy their time with their AR friends before this app closes. According to the FNAF AR FAQ page:

  • Starting from February 1st, the game will remain online for the next 6 weeks for everyone to enjoy.
  • After February 2nd, 2024, FNAF AR: Special Delivery will no longer be available for new users to download on the Apple or Google Play app stores.
  • During these last 6 weeks, we have massively increased rewards to allow you to experience everything you can before the servers shut down.
  • We’ve also reduced prices, converted the Dark Circus DLC to a Faz-Coin purchase, and given access to every lure we’ve ever released so you can invite all your favorites over to play until the very end!
  • On March 14th, 2024, the game’s servers will be shut down and FNAF AR will be officially offline. Due to this, the game will no longer run on devices.

Once the servers officially close on March 14, you can no longer access the FNAF AR app, so make sure that you’re signing in to see what is still happening within the world before the doors are locked and the animatronics are put into retirement.

Why is FNAF AR: Special Delivery Closing Down?

There are a variety of reasons as to why Five Nights At Freddy’s AR: Special Delivery may be closing down, but there is no official reasoning as of yet. While Illumix has recently been working with Disney for their AR technology, they’ve still been updating FNAF AR regularly to ensure that fans can still enjoy the game as intended. There may just be too few players jumping into the game at this point for it to be financially feasible to continue running, especially since the game does require being online at all times.

While seeing a game sunset is never a fun feeling, this could mean that a newer version of FNAF AR is on the horizon. We’ll just need to wait and see what is next for Freddy Fazbear and the crew, and keep our fingers crossed that we can once again interact with them in such a unique way in the future.
