When Do You Unlock Dondoko Island in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth? – Answered

Why is this as good as it is?

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth provides plenty of things to do, but one of the most exciting has to be Dondoko Island. Even though you’ll be spending tons of time in Honolulu City, when do you finally unlock this new spot?

How To Unlock Dondoko Island in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

You’ll need to progress a fair bit into the main story before Dondoko Island becomes accessible, as it’s a necessary part at the start of Chapter 6. After you have hit the concluding note of the previous chapter, you’ll be ready to start making the Animal Crossing town of your dreams while playing as Ichiban.

Unlike some Sub-Stories that the game has to offer, there is no way to miss the introduction to this part of the world. You’ll be stuck on the island for a bit of time, as well, since a specific story beat requires a few days to pass. What better way to pass the time than starting up a new life on a new horizon? Maybe it’s time to turn over a new leaf and start working on Dondoku Island full-time, but I know that I surely would miss all the city folk. It’s a wild world out there, but we at least get the chance to make an adorable island instead of roaming around Honolulu City.

Is Dondoku Island Fun To Play?

Donodoku Island is extremely polished and could sap up quite a fair bit of your time, so if you’re hoping to find something to play after feeling burned by Animal Crossing, this may honestly be a great replacement for that. Sure, you’ll need to go through some RPG action before you get here, but Dondoku Island does great at what it sets out to do.

Not only can you create little buildings and villages, but you can decorate, take part in battles that will put you up against a new threat, and even go fishing with more interactivity than expected. Much like I stated in my review of Infinite Wealth, the sheer number of things you can do here feel like they live up to the moniker delivered in its subtitle.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on our Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth section below to learn more about the game, and find out if you can play on the go with your Steam Deck.
