The lands of Bohemia are rich with greenery, towering trees, and some of the densest forests you’ll find in an open-world game. Forests, in particular, are one of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s greatest strengths, playing a major role in creating a deeply immersive experience.
As you explore, you’ll frequently come across bird nests, but the game doesn’t explain their purpose. Here’s everything you need to know about these nests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Nests in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Nests can be found all around Bohemia, but are more common in forests and tall trees.

Whenever a nest is in your vicinity, you’ll see an in-game prompt that says “You discovered Nest” in the top right corner of the HUD.

Once discovered, each nest is permanently marked on your map and appears on the compass when you’re close to it. This way you can always come back to it if you don’t currently have the means to take it down.

Knocking Down a Nest
When you spot a nest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you can knock it down by shooting it with a Bow or Crossbow.

It may take a few tries to get the trajectory right, but once hit, the nest will fall to the ground.

Here are a few things to keep in mind about nests before you approach them:
- The nest itself is a physical object and has physics tied to it. It can roll down from an elevated plane so make sure you keep an eye on the nest as it falls down.
- Some nests can be found in cities as well, but we recommend only shooting those down when there aren’t any people or guards around, as they’ll be aggroed when you take out your bow.
- If you’re having a hard time finding the nest in the tree, try skipping time to when there’s more sunlight. You can also use the photo mode to get a better look at the tree and find the nest that way.

- While rare, some nests can be examined up close. In these cases, you don’t need to waste an arrow, you can simply interact with them from arm’s length.

What do Nests Contain in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Just like the first Kingdom Come Deliverance, nests can contain all sorts of items that vary in value. So far, I’ve found that Eggs and Lockpicks are the most common items. However, I’ve also found a pair of Spectacles (jewelry) in one of the nests, which can be sold for some decent Groschen.

Here are a few things we’ve found so far and we’ll update the table as we find more:
Item | Groschen Value |
---|---|
Egg | 0.4 |
Lockpick | 12 |
Spectacles | 247.3 |
Tin warlord’s badge | 110 |
If you don’t have a bow, or crossbow yet, you can purchase one from Carpenter in Troskowitz.

Overall, we recommend shooting down nests whenever you can in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It’s an easy way to regularly get lockpicks and potential jewelry that you can sell off.
