The good news is we have the answers, so let’s take a look at what the max co-op player count in Far Cry 5 is, and how to invite friends to your game.

How Many Players Can Play Co-op in Far Cry 5?

Far Cry 5 is currently only set to allow players to have one extra person join their game in the story mode. While the party system allows quite a few more than that, you’ll only be able to have one person join you in your world and help you complete story missions, take down outposts, and explore the entirety of Hope County.

This means that you’ll need to head into the game’s Arcade in order to play with more than just one person. There are plenty of missions and modes for you to enjoy with your friends, though, and thanks to the fully-featured map editor, the number of maps and modes continues to grow each and every day.

How Does Progression Work in Co-op?

If you plan to play co-op with your friends in Far Cry 5, then there are a couple of things you need to take into account. First off, when you invite someone to your world, they act as a hired gun. This means that any progression made in your world won’t transfer to their world. Instead, only character progression like perks, weapon purchases, and upgrades will be carried over to their main game.

The developers made this decision in order to keep players from missing out on any of the game’s core content if they joined their friend’s world to help complete things like outposts and other challenging missions. This allows you to have fun with your friends and still enjoy the full breadth of the game’s storyline without any kind of interruptions or issues when you return to your own game world.
