What is the Crusher Weapon in Warhammer 40K: Darktide? – Answered

Crushing time, baby!

UPDATE: Fatshark has revealed that the Crusher is a two-handed mace of sorts for the Zealot, rather than the additional Ogryn weapon we assumed.

Original Article: With the most recent community update for Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Fashark detailed much of what they’re working on in the short and long term. This includes private matches and solo play, which are set to arrive next week and beyond, respectively. One particularly interesting note was the two new weapons, with one leaving a lot of intrigue. Here’s what the Crusher weapon is in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

What is the Indignatus Mk IVe Crusher in Darktide?

Unlike the Power Maul we mentioned previously, the Crusher is shrouded in far more mystery with it showing up nowhere across the 40K universe or in Darktide’s promotional material. With that in mind, we have to admit that we don’t have a definitive answer to what it is yet. With that being said, there is one major guess with it being some form of two-handed hammer likely for the Ogryn as well. The Crusher enemy has been seen using a two-handed hammer in the past, so the Ogryn will likely begin using it as its first two-handed melee (unless you count the Battle Maul and Slab Shield).

We should remind that the above answer is merely a guess and could be completely off. It could be some new form of one-handed weapon for the Ogryn for example or could be a two-handed mace of sorts for a lot of the other classes. It could be something no one has guessed yet, though the limitations of the 40K universe shouldn’t let your imagination run too wild. Regardless, the prospect of some new weapons is a welcome sight to see. Hopefully, over the coming months, we see even more weapons enter the pool. Some characters could desperately use them (looking at you, Ogryn, and your 15 weapon variants of one weapon).
