What is the Commodore’s Vestures in Warhammer 40K: Darktide? – Answered

In-game shops tend to bring a fair bit of controversy, naturally.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide brought a lot of new features to the table when it launched into full release from the pre-order beta. One of our favorites is the expanded Inspect menu, breaking down all sorts of damage numbers so you don’t need to play a guessing game about your own weapons. One such feature is a little more controversial than that but is worth explaining either way. Here’s what The Commodore’s Vestures is in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

What Does the Commodore’s Vestures Do in Darktide?

When spawning back in on the Mourningstar, take a left towards the Armory Exchange though don’t go all the way to it. Instead, at the nearby intersection, you’ll notice The Commodore’s Vestures sitting nicely on the corner, with Commodore Hallowette sitting right at the desk ready to provide you with all you could ask for, appearance-wise.

Within the Commodore’s Vestures, you’ll find all sorts of cosmetics that you can purchase for the premium currency called Aquilas. The main page offers several bundles of the week that can be purchased for varying amounts of Aquilas, while you can go to each of the four character pages to find even more cosmetics. As one example, the Veteran at the time of writing offers an individual outfit, two different pieces of headgear, and a weapon skin. These are bound to change.

As for how you acquire Aquilas, hitting the button in the top right lets you choose from various packs. These range from 500 Aquilas to 7000, also ranging in price from around $2 to $30 depending on your local currency. This, combined with the rotating bundles and prices, is what makes this shop controversial. In the age of microtransactions though, you’d be surprised to hear this is fairly tame. That’s not to say we’re pleased with it though.

If you’re willing to shell out some extra money on top of purchasing the game, these skins will be nice to deck your character out in some sweet gear. Just don’t get too overzealous with the credit card.
