Valorant already has many agents across four different roles: Controller, Duelist, Initiator, and Sentinel. Each of the roles provides an alternative playstyle that suits different players. Something like a Duelist would be best for people to get in and tear their foes apart (or in most cases die, but we don’t talk about that), while a Sentinel is great for those who want to use their abilities to conquer the battle. With the release of Episode 6 Act 2, a new agent will come into play with its details being rather mysterious. Here’s everything we know so far about the next Valorant agent, Gekko.
Everything Known About Valorant’s Gekko So Far
What Role Will They Be?
A few days ago, the Valorant team discussed the state of the agents and within that, said that there would be an Initiator, Sentinel, and an agent of an unknown role coming out in 2023. Thanks to this, we can confirm Gekko will be another Initiator. That may be leaving Sentinel a bit high and dry for the time being, but the team also thinks they’re at a point where they don’t need to have all roles have the same amount of agents.
What Are Their Abilities?
The Riot team hasn’t revealed anything official about the agent’s abilities just yet, though we can speculate a few things from one of the teaser images for Gekko. In that image, there’s a glimpse of some robot claws next to a Boba tea bottle with a bear on it. While not necessarily guaranteed, it’s likely this Initiator has some sort of bear gadget that can seek out enemies. Again, take that with a grain of salt. Their other abilities are completely up in the air.

When Do They Release?
As we kind of mentioned above, Gekko will debut with Episode 6 Act 2 on March 7. Alongside them, they’ll likely be releasing some sort of balance patch with a new battle pass. We can’t forget the Oni 2.0 bundle, which you can read more about in our guide.
